A Guide To The Rockwood Valley Omegaverse By Jarica James

What’s It About?

The Rockwood Valley Omegaverse series is a small town omegaverse romance series written by Janice James. Each book covers a new set of characters within the town of Rockwood Valley.

Rockwood Valley is a small fictional town in North Carolina, USA. It’s a town that prides itself on artisanal small business. It’s also a town that has seen better times. The residents, however, are full of warmth, love, and creativity.

This series almost feels like you’re watching a series on TV, with each season being dedicated to a new group of people finding love, except in this case, it’s an omega finding her true mates, her pack. Pair that with a dose traumatic pasts, feelings of unworthiness, bad breakups, and men willing to do anything to build their women up, and you’ve got Rockwood Valley in a nutshell.

If you’re new to the whole omegaverse style of writing, this is definitely a great series to get you started. Some omegaverse books can get pretty complicated, but this one keeps it simple. Think humans but with wolf-like qualities who tend to mate in packs [aka a reverse harem]. Things can, like I said, get complicated with lots of rules quickly, but Jarica James has done a beautiful job of keeping things short, sweet, and simple.

With sweet love stories that will build you up and keep you giggling, I definitely recommend you give the Rockwood Valley series a try.

My Rating For The Series

Full rating coming soon!

Book One: Talk About…History

My Personal Rating — ★★★★★ — 5/5 Stars

Talk About…History is book one in the Rockwood Valley Omegaverse series. It is a small town omegaverse romance book written by Jarica James.

This book was my first dive into anything omegaverse — which is a whole world unto itself. To keep it as simple as possible, omegaverse books tend to place wolf-like attributes onto humans. There are levels to the humans — alphas, omegas, betas, etc — just as there would be in a wolf pack. Omegaverse books can be real simple or get complicated. This one? It’s simple and I absolutely loved it.

The story centers around our main female character, Avery Whitaker, who is an omega. After ditching her home town to move to the big city for college, she ends up in a long-term relationship that falls apart on their anniversary of all days when she walks in on her ‘pack’ with another woman [her supposed best friend]. And while Avery is loyal, once you cross a line she will cut you off quick. So what does she do? She calls in her brothers and moves back home.

When she gets home, she finds that things have gone downhill. Businesses are struggling and tourists aren’t visiting her beloved Rockwood Valley like they used to. Needing a distraction from her traumatic breakup [plus all the crazy truths that get revealed about her exes], Avery takes it upon herself to ‘save the town’ by using her social media manager skills. What she doesn’t expect? To meet her true mates. Her true scent matches.

I give this book 5/5 stars. It’s a super sweet and somewhat short small town romance with a healthy dose of omegaverse. If you’re new to the whole omegaverse style of worlds, I think this is a good book to begin with. And if you have dogs and have ever studied pack-like mentality, a lot of stuff in the omegaverse worlds will make sense to you from the jump.

Avery was truly traumatized by her last relationship, and to come in contact with her true mates so quickly after coming back home throws her for a loop. She’s naturally afraid to trust and let herself fall. But these men? Boy oh boy are they willing to not only wait but to prove their loyalty to Avery. It truly is a super sweet story that had me smiling all the way through. That, and the town and its residents will have you wanting to move to Rockwood Valley ASAP.

Talk About…History is book 1 in a 3-book series. It does not end on a cliffhanger as each book covers a brand new relationship, though future characters are introduced in the books prior. Talk About…History is available on Kindle Unlimited. You can get book one in the Rockwood Valley Omegaverse series here.
