What’s It About?

A Knight’s Revenge is a dark college reverse harem romance series written by Elizabeth Dear.

Jolie, Bennett, Zach, and Noah grew up together in high elite society. Their parents all ran The City, each with their own tower and billions in business ownership. When Jolie’s father comes across a world-changing discovery, he keeps it secret and dies for it, along with Jolie’s mother, and Jolie herself — while her 3 best friends had to watch.

The Setting

A Knight’s Revenge takes place in a fictional place called The City. The City is made up of multiple parts which include the City Center, Olde Town, and Industrial City. Much of the book series occurs either in The City Center or at Holywell Academy which is also part of the City Center.

While there are many characters in this book series, there are 12 students that the books center around: Jolie Knight, Bennett Spencer, Zach Ferrero, Noah Hargraves, Max Miller, and Frankie Ferrero.

Book One: Storm The Gates

My Personal Rating — ★★★★★ — 5/5 Stars

Storm The Gates is book one in the Knight’s Revenge series. It is a dark college reverse harem romance book written by Elizabeth Dear.

In this book we witness the horrific beginnings to Jolie’s new life. She, according to the world, no longer exists. She’s changed everything about herself: hair color and now wears contacts. And she is now attending Holywell Academy, the very school that her 3 old best friends attend — friends who have no idea she exists.

Bennett, Noah, and Zach have learned to go on, weighed with guilt and grief at the loss of their best friend Jolie. When a new student arrives at Holywell Academy, something about her sparks their attention though they're not sure what.

This book is a bully romance and the author did a good job of that. The 3 guys in this book [Spencer, Zach, and Noah] all have different reactions to this new girl. Zach is immediately head-over-heels, Noah is cautious, and Bennett fights his attraction. Little do they know that this new girl is their best friend Jolie, no longer a ghost.

Jolie has come to the school to get her revenge on the guys’ parents. What she doesn’t expect? For her old feelings for the guys to come rushing to the surface.

I give this book 5/5 stars. It has dark themes. The plot is plotting. Jolie is a strong FMC who gives back just as good as she gets and is just full of surprises for the boys. And the guys? I like how the author did not make them all immediately want her from the first introduction. They also each have their own dark backstories and personalities.

Storm The Gates is book one in a 4-book series. It does end on a cliffhanger but all the books are completed so it’s easy to roll right on in to book two. Storm The Gates is available on Kindle Unlimited. You can get book one in the Knight’s Revenge series here.

Book Two: Seize The Castle

My Personal Rating — ★★★★★ — 5/5 Stars

Seize The Castle is book two in the Knight’s Revenge series. It is a dark college reverse harem romance book written by Elizabeth Dear.

In this book we see the aftermath of Jolie revealing herself to the entire school, her three old best friends included. All the guys have certain feelings — Zach just plain wants Jolie back, Noah feels hurt by her lies, and Bennett simply continues to fight what he really wants. Jolie, on the other hand, immediately begins enacting her plan for revenge.

She takes the Spencers, Hargaves, and Ferreros’ businesses down bit by bit, dollar by dollar. They fight back of course, but they’ve completely underestimated our FMC. And one by one, the guys begin to give in to what they feel, and Jolie in turn, does too.

With the guys now wanting to go against their families and join in on the fight, what will become of them?

I give this book 5/5 stars. First off, I like the pacing of this book. Technically, Jolie and hers guys’ story is only the first three books of the series with the last book being a novella for Max and Frankie’s love story. This book jumps right into the action of Jolie’s revenge plan and boy oh boy is it sweet. She literally has a huge team behind her, helping her strategically take down these huge conglomerates in the most sneaky ways. Add to that the budding relationship between her and the guys — the sweet words, the truths revealed, and the spice — and this book is easily 5 stars for me.

Seize The Castle is book two in a 4-book series. It does end on a cliffhanger but all the books are completed so it’s easy to roll right on in to book three. Seize The Castle is available on Kindle Unlimited. You can get book one in the Knight’s Revenge series here.
