The Love Potion: A Love Witch Halloween Cocktail
MAKE TIME 4 minutes • 1 serving
The Backstory
The Love Witch is one of my favorite witchy movies. It’s a comedy/horror movie that stars Samantha Robinson as Elaine Parks, a modern-day witch who uses spells and magic to get men to fall in love with her with disastrous results.
So, with my deep love of The Love Witch, I decided to create my own version of her — outfits, drinks, and vibes included. This is the recipe for the Love Wicth cocktail, aka The Love Potion.

A jigger
A cocktail spoon
Cocktail glasses
Cocktail skewers
Tools I Love For This Drink
Ingredients
3 ounces of lemonade
1 ounce Empress Gin
.5 ounce Violette Liqueur
Just a few drops of grenadine
Edible purple glitter
Ice
Maraschino cherries for a garnish
The Steps
Grab your cocktail shaker, jigger, and measuring cup.
Add a good handful of ice to your cocktail shaker.
Pour out your 4 ounce of lemonade and add to your shaker.
Using the larger side of your jigger, pour out 1 ounce of Empress Gin and add to your cocktail shaker.
Using the smaller side of your jigger, pour out .5 ounce of Violet Liqueur and add it to your cocktail shaker.
Using your cocktail spoon, grab some of your edible purple glitter and add it to your cocktail shaker. Use however much glitter you want.
Put the top on your shaker and then shake it up. I usually shake it till my hands feel super cold.
Grab your glass of choice and pour your drink into it.
Grab your grenadine syrup and add just a few drops directly to the middle of the drink. It should sink down to the bottom and stay.
Grab your cocktail skewers and add a few maraschino cherries. Then gently place your skewered cherries on top of [or in] your drink.
That’s it! Enjoy your Love Potion cocktail!
If you find the drink too strong or too juicy, you can always adjust to your tastes. Either add more liquor or more lemonade. That’s the thing I love about cocktails — they’re customizable to your preferences!
